Create an invite code

How does this work?

Approve students age 13 and under:

Generate a new code
  • Codes are good for 7 days.
  • Creating a new code replaces the old one, which will no longer work.

Approve students

Teachers, you can now create a code to invite and immediately approve your students under the age of 13. As a moderator, you'll be able to manage their designs, comments, and passwords. Here's how:

1. Teachers:
Invite Code generation

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Scroll up to the above section and click the Create an Invite Code button (generated code is good for a week).
  3. Share it with your students – many teachers write the code on the board.

2. Students:
Account creation

  1. Students create their own Tinkercad accounts.
  2. Instructions for:

13 and over students

  1. Enter country, birthdate, email address, and password to create an account.
  2. Start Tinkering immediately!

under 13 students

  1. Enter country, birthdate, username, password, and parent OR teacher email address to create an account.

If they enter parent's email, the parent will receive an approval email, and can follow instructions to be added as an additional moderator. Note: that if the child uses a teacher Approval Code they'll be fully approved under teacher moderation immediately upon code entry, and the parent's actions are extra.

If they enter your email, disregard the approval email you receive, as the Teacher code approval process works outside the standard parent approval. They'll be fully approved under teacher moderation immediately upon code entry.

3. Students:
Invite/Approval Code entry

  1. Access Tinkercad profile page – they will have to exit the lesson for this.
  2. Enter teacher Approval Code in the box.
  3. Start Tinkering immediately after code entry!
